Iperf is a tool to measure maximum TCP bandwidth, allowing the tuning of various parameters and UDP characteristics. Iperf reports bandwidth, delay jitter, datagram loss.

Download the src rpm

cd /usr/local/src
wget http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/iperf/iperf-2.0.2-1.rf.src.rpm

Build RPM from SRC

rpmbuild --rebuild iperf-2.0.2-1.rf.src.rpm

Locate and copy build RPM Located somewhare in /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/*

cp /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/iperf-2.0.2-1.rf.i386.rpm ./

Install RPM

rpm -Uhv iperf-2.0.2-1.rf.i386.rpm
